We are proud to offer our Fast Track /Intensive Holistic Massage Diploma for people who want to study quickly. The  massage course is run in Central London and Edinburgh. In London it is provided as two blocks of ten dynamic and energetic days  over 3 months.

In Edinburgh it is 15 days, spread over a period of 3 months. Some of the anatomy and physiology aspects of the course will be taught by distance learning with DVD’s of teaching sessions, online quizzes and teleconference tutorials. You are also required to do a first aid course in your own time as well as massage practice and case studies.

If you study our massage course in Edinburgh you will receive a free fully adjustable massage couch! Only the BTEC exam is available in Ediburgh but you may come to London to take our ITEC exams.             

ITEC is an independent professional examinations board whose examinations are recognised nationally and internationally. BTEC (The Business and Technical Education Council) is a long established awarding body that works closely with colleges and universities to deliver qualifications to over 2 million learners around the world.

Can anyone study these holistic massage courses?

Yes, all you need is a desire to help others and a keenness to learn. If the course is your first experience of exams and studying, don't worry! The Essentials for Health team understands that this is true for many of our students and our teaching approach is flexible, designed to help each individual study and practise in the way that works best for them.

What are the holistic massage course requirements?

Home study - Approx 100 hours of massage practice must be completed, including case studies. Additional hours will be required to study Anatomy and Physiology
Theory Exams - 3 x Multiple choice papers
A practical exam lasting 45 minutes

After qualification you can join the ICM, FHT and EMBODY Professionals

I’m not sure whether to take ITEC or BTEC

For an extra fee you can take both the ITEC and BTEC exams and gain two qualifications (London only).

Course requirements

100 hours of home massage practice including case studies
Revision and homework in anatomy and physiology and massage theory
One hour practical exam and theory exam.
