With fifteen years of success, you can be assured that when you train with us you will benefit from:
Our reputation speaks for itself. 70% of our business comes from referrals and repeat business and our rate of examination passes is exceptionally high. We believe this is the result of the careful structuring and timetabling of our courses and the commitment of our highly-qualified tutors selected for their passion for their subject, a desire to pass on knowledge, an enjoyable, relaxed teaching style and a good sense of humour!
All our tutors are personally selected by Gill Tree for their unique teaching style, teaching qualifications and expertise, enthusiasm and energy. They include a Medical Herbalist, Osteopath, Physiotherapist, Sports Scientists, Aromatherapists, Reflexologist and Health Consultant. They are all committed to constantly improving and developing their knowledge and skills so that they can pass on their teaching to the highest standards.
From recent evaluations of the ITEC Diploma students who studied with us;
We teach up to and beyond the standards required by ITEC, APNT and IFA (our chosen examination boards) whose qualifications are recognised nationally. Our teaching style emphasises our philosophy on active involvement, encouraging students to make a contribution and providing practical group work instead of formal lectures wherever possible.
All courses are accompanied by a comprehensive manual included in the course fee. These can be viewed at any time.
If you have never taken exams before, take heart! Many of our students are in this position and gain confidence from examination success for the first time in their lives. Regular testing, homework and one-to-one tuition to help individuals are part of our course policy, and the ratio of our classes, ensures that tutors develop good awareness of each student's needs and strengths. This can be as low as 1 tutor to 3 students.
Private lessons can also be arranged.
Our professional membership
We are proud to be members of the AC Schools Forum (Aromatherapy Consortium), the BCMA (British Complementary Medicine Association) and the GCMT Schools Forum (General Council for Massage Therapy). This helps us to maintain the highest possible standards, be informed of changes in legislation and work closely with other schools and associations to promote the professionalism, status and standing of our industry in the UK. These bodies, whilst giving reassurances of our high credentials, allow us (and, therefore you) to influence attitudes and changes in legislation.

Training and qualifying with Essentials for Health need not be the end of your involvement with us. We are always available during office hours to answer your questions that arise after qualification. Every graduate receives a bi-annual newsletter, which details further skill-developing opportunities, gives news of developments in the complementary field and offers specialist workshops for qualified practitioners. We email news to graduates regularly, particularly regarding vacancies and opportunities. These networking opportunities are important, as are the friendships with like-minded people you will make during your training.
Is to inspire, uplift and motivate you beyond your highest expectations, whilst training you to the highest standard, to be powerful, focused, caring, effective, successful and professional holistic therapists.
The passion for what we do seeps out of every pore. We positively thrive on making our training courses fresh, creative and thought-provoking whilst delivering them with humour and panache.
Our first home was nature, living by the natural rhythms governed by the sun and moon. We were in touch with the earth, grounded. Our senses and intuition guided us, giving us an inner knowing. Massage creates a deep and nurturing safe haven in which to relax, let go. Just be and reconnect with our essence. Massage also assists the body's natural healing abilities. Essentials for Health students are encouraged to work intuitively giving powerful, effective physical treatments.
Our training combines the science behind what we do with the holistic treatment of the mind, body and spirit. Massage is movement, connection and healing between the giver and receiver.
We have taken the best of ancient wisdoms and traditions, added some technology and science, sprinkled in some accelerated learning techniques and mixed with love, humour, fun, and creativity and lightly dusted with our core values of quality, service and excellence.
By teaching people to be therapists and teachers, the influence of EfH works like ripples in a pond, forever emanating outwards in ever increasing circles to spread the healing power of touch. Through the wonders of technology we are truly an international school attracting people from all over the world. Through our students we bring balance, peace, healing, love and connection to the world.
