BTEC (The Business and Technical Education Council) is a long established awarding body that works with colleges and universities to deliver over 2 million qualifications around the world.
This sports massage course is for qualified massage therapists who currently hold a recognised qualification in Massage, Anatomy and Physiology (ITEC/BTEC or equivalent). Qualified Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors or those in training for these qualifications are also welcome although you should have some massage experience as this training will build on existing skills. Held in Central London this is an ideal opportunity for students who cannot attend courses held at weekends and who want to qualify quickly. If you would prefer to study over weekends please see our Weekend Sports Massage course details.
On the sports massage course you will deepen your understanding of the musculoskeletal system in order to apply advanced remedial and deep tissue techniques effectively and safely with confidence. As well as treating soft tissue injuries caused by occupational stress and injury including common complaints such as RSI, neck/back stiffness and carpal tunnel syndrome, you will be able to provide more effective treatment before and after sport or exercise including advanced injury evaluation, management and treatment. Acute treatment training is combined with developing skills for long-term maintenance with a goal of preventing injury in the future.
