This sports massage course is for qualified massage therapists or qualified/trainee Physiotherapists etc who wish to study the sports massage diploma only. The course is held in London over 7 weekends spread over 5 months - perfect for those currently working weekdays. What will I Learn on the sports massage course?

You will learn and develop advanced remedial and deep tissue techniques allowing you to treat soft tissue injuries with confidence and provide more effective massage treatments before and after sport or exercise. The course also includes injury evaluation, management and treatment.

Can anyone take the BTEC Sports massage Post Graduate course?

Yes! Providing you currently hold a recognised qualification in Massage, Anatomy and Physiology (ITEC/BTEC or equivalent) or are a Qualified Physiotherapist, Osteopath, Chiropractor or are in training for these qualifications.

As a Physiotherapy or Osteopathy student what will I learn on the sports massage course?

You will be taught advanced remedial and deep tissue techniques in order to provide more effective treatment before and after sport or exercise, which will assist performance, help to prevent injury and aid recovery from injury. You will deepen your understanding of common sports injuries, be able to offer appropriate treatment or referral and will further expand your knowledge of the effect of use and overuse on muscle anatomy and physiology.

 

What are the sports massage course requirements?

50 hours home practice inclusive of case studies (for qualified therapists)
1 hour practical examination
2.5 hour theory paper

After qualification you can join the APNT, BCMA and ISRM
